What is the most memorable performance you ever had?

In Seoul in 2021, I was a band member of the musical Chicago and the only violinist in the orchestra. Our band was positioned on the stage itself, rather than in the usual orchestra pit. This unique setup meant that we had to perform amidst the chaos created by the actors during the show. On the day of the first performance, I was so extremely nervous that my whole body was shaking and I almost threw up.

Do you have a favorite non-classical musician or band?

SZA, Summer Walker, Doja Cat

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing?

If I weren’t pursuing a career in music, I would be fully invested in running my own fashion and beauty business. I’ve always been passionate about fashion and beauty, and I believe they are creative outlets where I can express myself and help others feel confident and empowered. Whether it’s creating my clothing and cosmetics line, curating unique fashion pieces and beauty products, or even exploring fashion and beauty-related ventures, it’s a field I’m truly excited about and would dedicate myself to. I want to make people not only look great but also feel great about themselves, and the fashion and beauty industry provides the perfect platform for that.

What advice would you give your younger self or anyone starting out?

It’s easy to fall into the trap of trying to be perfect or imitating others, but in reality everyone has their own distinct color, personality, and strengths. Instead of striving for perfection or copying someone else, focus on nurturing and amplifying your own strengths. Be authentic, be yourself, and let your true colors shine. That’s where your greatest potential and fulfillment lie.
