TŌN Alum Samuel Frois Named a 2025 PT Young Artist

Violinist Samuel Frois, a 2025 TŌN graduate, has been named a Young Artist in Residence by Performance Today, the public radio series from American Public Media that airs nationwide. A native of Contagem, Minas Gerais ,Brazil, Sam began playing violin at the age of 9 with his local youth orchestra. He came from a very musical family where everyone was active in church singing and playing music. These days, he frequently collaborates with both the Nashville and Richmond Symphonies. On the August 11 episode of Performance Today, Sam and collaborative pianist Neilson Chen TŌN ’25 join Fred Child at the PT studio in Saint Paul to perform works by Brazilian composers Heitor Villa-Lobos and Andre Mehmari.
