Was there a teacher who was particularly impactful/helpful? What made this instructor stand out?
My high school teacher, Carolyn Wahl, really helped me understand what it means to be a musician. I really enjoyed my time playing music and would love going to every lesson.
What is the most memorable performance you ever had?
I had the wonderful opportunity to play Mahler’s Sixth Symphony in Hamburg, Germany with a German-based orchestra. This was so cool as we got to play in the brand-new Elbphilharmonie hall!
Can you share any memorable onstage mishaps?
Last year during a concert I had a horn string snap during Stravinsky’s Petrushka and had to fix it before my next entrance. That was a fun concert!
