TŌN Resident Conductor Zachary Schwartzman returns with the orchestra to Symphony Space for another free concert. The program comprises Debussy’s colorful Nocturnes and selections from Prokofiev’s three Romeo & Juliet suites, plus the NY premiere of the Scherzo No. 1 of composer Herman Whitfield III, a Black man who died in April 2022 after he was restrained by the police when his parents called 911 because he was having a mental health crisis.
