Part of the Gernsheim Festival: Rediscovering a Master
Gernsheim and Brahms were friendly contemporaries who championed each other’s music in performance. This concert celebrates some of their pivotal orchestral works: Gernsheim’s powerful tone poem Zu einem Drama and his dramatic third symphony, based on the legend of the Song of Miriam; alongside Brahms’s gigantic First Piano Concerto, written over a five-year period in the 1850s.
These concerts will also be livestreamed on TŌNtube.
The Gernsheim Festival is graciously underwritten by E&V ProArte.
